Privacy Policy

Pending legal review ยท version 2026-07-06.placeholder

DigitalMe gives you a private data vault that you own and a DigitalMe, an AI aligned to you, that reads from and writes to that vault under your direction. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and the rights you have. The short version: your vault is yours, our job is to keep it, and we do not train on, sell, or hand off your data.

This draft is here so the product flow can be reviewed. Entity, jurisdiction, billing, retention, dispute, and contact details are still being finalized with counsel.

2 Your data is yours

Everything you put in your vault, and everything your DigitalMe creates for you, is your property. We act as the custodian of that data, not its owner. We claim no right to use your vault contents for our own purposes.

3 What we collect, and why

  • What you put in your vault: files, texts, links, and the answers you give your DigitalMe. We use these only to provide the service to you: storage, retrieval, alignment, and watermarking.
  • Setup signals: the links you choose to share and the public-footprint research you ask us to run, used only to help your DigitalMe understand you. You confirm or reject the result, and a rejected result is discarded.
  • Account and operational data: the email or account you sign in with (Apple or Google), and the minimal logs we need to run, secure, and bill the service.

We do not secretly collect your contacts, location, or communications. Anything like that happens only after you explicitly turn it on, and you can turn it off.

4 What we do not do with your data

  • We do not train any AI model on your vault contents.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not give outside AI models access to your private footprint. When an outside AI helps answer something, it receives only the minimum needed for that request, and its answer is saved back into your vault as yours.
  • We do not read your vault to profile you or market to you.

5 Watermarking and provenance

Files you save are stamped with an ownership watermark: the legal name you chose, a confidential / do-not-train / do-not-distribute notice, and a provenance link. This is a record of custody and timestamp, not a claim of legal title to material you did not create. Please only save material you have the right to hold.

6 Sharing

We share your data only when you direct it (for example, when you share a folder with someone). Otherwise we do not share it, except where the law requires, in which case we will tell you unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.

7 How we keep your vault

We hold your vault with access controls and an auditable trail of who touched what. No system is perfectly secure, so we use commercially reasonable safeguards and will notify you of a breach as the law requires.

8 Your rights

  • Export: download your vault data at any time.
  • Inheritance: you can designate how your vault passes to a person you choose. An inheritance activates only after that person proves who they are.
  • See and correct: view and correct the account information we hold about you.

10 Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will post it here and, where the law requires, notify you.
